Welcome to Trailblazer District’s Home on the World Wide Web!

We invite all leaders and parents to take a look around the site and take

advantage of the many resources here!  This is a place where you can come

for the district/council calendar, forms, flyers and general information

about what is happening in the Scouting world in Southwest Iowa!

Let us know what we can do to serve your needs better!

There's a camp in the Council that's far away
But not too way afar
And nobody knows it but me
There’s 1800 acres of timber
And wild life galore
And nobody knows it but me
There's shelters and a pavilion
And places to see

And nobody knows it but me

Our Scouting family lost four exceptional young men in the tragedy at Little Sioux Scout Ranch in June.  Words cannot express the profound grief we feel for the families of Josh, Sam, Ben and Aaron. We will never forget them.

Thank you to all of those of you who have supported the Mid-America Council and the Boy Scouts of America during this time of grief, especially the families of the young men who were at Little Sioux Scout Ranch, the staff, leadership, volunteers, local authorities and the community.

In the past month we’ve seen many acts of heroism, both small and grand. Scouts have always been heroes, but as the world turned its eyes to the Mid-America Council it saw this legacy of heroism in action. And, we’ve all been reminded of our collective faith in a higher power. It is this faith that gives us strength today and hope for tomorrow. It is this faith that will help us heal.

Now, more than ever, duty to God, country, others and self are more than just words.

Scouting is truly more than what we do – it’s who we are.

Please continue to pray for our family and may God bless the Boy Scouts of America.
